Hi everyone, hope you all had a great weekend , mine was pretty busy. Sat was kids day at one of the grocery stores in my area. So my sister who runs Pony Rides etc, had her entire petting zoo there for all the kids and adults to enjoy. There was the llama clyde, pokey the donkey, gloria and billybob goat, curly and blossom the sheep. Of course there were the rabbits, ducks, chickens and lets not forget rosie the pot belly pig with her purple halter, purple and pink leash and flower on her halter all dressed to impress. It was a hot day but the animals had tents and lots of water. Boys and girls had a great time feeding the animals and getting critter kisses. My princess violet bunny was there she is a violet rex bunny, and my ducks, salty quakers(buff openhimer) and his girlfriends, pansy and posey(blue swedish ducks) were there. they stood in there big water dish. My sister had some interesting chickens there . She had one of her black silkie hens, and a coucian hen and rooster. One young boy that visited the animals thought the rooster was a turkey, and when it got on in the day and the rooster started crowing a cute little 2 yr old girl put her finger to her lips and told the rooster to shhhh. it gave me a giggle and still makes me grin when i think about it. Poor clyde, he was even called a camel a time or two. But everyone had fun and i did too. So if you ever need critters for a birthday, family get together, block party, etc. Just call my sister Beth @704843-3798 and have yourself one wonderful afternoon full of memories and some giggles too. HI all,
just wanted to share with you pics from my vacation. I haven't had one in over a yr. my husband and i went to gatlinburg tn. we celebrated his 30 something birthday and his parents came over from georgia. it was wonderful and i can't wait to go back. enjoy the pics,. We walked and walked. We stayed at the sidney james, not a bad place. they had a nice pool, and hot tub. we went to the aquarium there, was really interesting. Did you know there was a four eyed fish, that horseshoe crabs have 9 eyes, there is a fresh water sting ray?? i didn't until then. We also went to pigeon forge and visited the 'forbidden caverns', saw a small bat, then went to parrot mountain and played with the parrots. a great place to go, visit and eat is the old mill there. great memories and experience. on our way home we went a little out of the way back to pigeon forge and fed the bears and gem mined at one of the local attractions by the road. i liked the bears, but felt sorry for them. i thought they needed grass and more comforts in there area. they seemed sad to me. they liked the apples better than the bread you could buy for them. i still think they need a tree or something to make them feel more comfortable in there confined surroundings. made me sad. the gem mining was fun though. so was the hot tub where we stayed. have a happy day, happygirl

I visited my sisters farm and it was wonderful. She only lives 40 min away from me, but we both stay busy so it is good to see each other when we have a chance. hi all, me happygirl again. wow twice in one day, i am really getting to be a blogaholic. Well today turned out better than i expected. Mr. grumpy got ungrumpied, turned out all he needed was food. So met my mom and dad for lunch, then headed to my sisters. didn't make it to the pool, but did get to play with all her doggies, go shopping, pet my bunny that now lives with her and one of our roosters remembered who we were and we held him too. He is my mr. fancy pants, half game half polish and beautiful as far as roosters go. I got to pet the goats, see the baby pot bellied pigs, wanted to put one in my pocket and bring that cutie home, and rubbed rosie pigs little pot belly. got some great pics, will be downloading them soon, so that means you will be seeing them soon. hi all you who look at this. i thought today was going to be a pretty great day, well it is not even noon yet, and things have turned sour. i was up at 830, got ready, went to a great church service, sang to my dogs, felt good. that was untill my husband checked on our pet chicken and found that the peeps were gone. the fox or possum paid a visit, and we are both SAD. He has been grouchy ALL day, fusing and fuming. i told him to go take a nap. was going to go to lunch with my mom, pay my sis a visit and see her puppies and bring one of my rabbits, princess violet home, maybe even go to the pool, but no, he comes home turns the tv on, grouches about the skitters, the dog getting sick, etc, cetera,cetera .....to infinite cetera... hoping my blahss and hum drums go away, anybody got any ideas, all mine are fuzzy.... wishing all of you in blog world a good day, i am sure it is gonna be better than mine, not so happygirl.....

Hi, i will let this be the last blog for today, just had a lot to share. As mentioned in the earlier blog, cicero and I went on vacation last week. We went to Gatlinburg Tn
and celebrated his birthday. His parents joined us and we had a blast. I tried to stay on my weight watchers program, but it was hard. I say this because i missed my meeting last week, and i can't believe it is already friday and the week is almost gone and it is time to go to a meeting again. I kept thinking last week before the trip i would go the day we left and then head to the mountains, but with us, we are always rushing around , last minute this and that, so that didn't work out. I ate three meals
of my own, and the rest of the time we shared. We had BIG meals. If you ever go to Gatlinburg eat at the LOG CABIN, it is great and you get alot, and the prices are good too. So we had pancakes, eggs, bacon and grits there. My mother in law told me i was doing good. she told me i was getting skinnier. Made me feel GOOD. While walking up and down the streets there i had some rock candy(grape), yummy too, cicero helped me eat that too. He let me share his OOGLE dog(thats two hot dogs on a stick and battered, like a giant corn dog), really yummy. I drank water all but twice, then had sprite. Then we returned home and I missed our vacation and wanted (not needed) bad food. So have had doughnuts, light soy choc milk, last night he went out to Mcdonalds and got me ice cream and a big mac. So i dread going back to weight watchers. One to see how much i have gained and 2 since i missed last week i pay more this week. Well at least the sun is coming out now, I have so much to do. my vacation wore me out, had to rest for two days after coming home. we had a big adventure. Hit the great smokey mt aquarium, forbidden caverns, and parrot mountain. rode the space needle and saw all of gatlinburg at the top, walked and walked and walked some more. enjoyed the pool and hot tub at the hotel. I didn;t want it to end. neither did cicero. He had to come back to go to work, i had to come back for my three little dogs and my sweet mama. I can't wait to go do it all over again, Happygirl!!.......

well, let me just tell you about my mornings these past couple of days. Yesturday was the best so we can start there. I need to back track some, be patient: went on vacation last week, so my sister has all the farm animals for a time being, but she missed a few so I still have one Hen (laverne) and her 3 there were 4 chicks, till my sister accidently opened the cage and one is MIA. So anyway, to the present: I have mama hen and chicks, so i went down to feed and water, and to my SURPRISE there was a black snake in the chicken house. I screamed , he hissed, he is gone now, he must have eaten eggs, for there are none down there now, and the hen and chicks are in a wire cage so the big bad snakey can't eat'm up. Wasn't that just a lovely experience....
So today I go back down there to feed and water, I put some hay in the cage so there little chicken feeties want be on the metal and get sore and mama hen Flogs me and pecked me in two places. OUCH!!! then if that wasn't enough, I am bringing the dogs in and scruffy has to be on a leash or else he runs off, jerks to get in the house and jerks my hand, the same one that was flogged mind you into the door. so now my knuckles on my right hand are nice and red and i have two small holes there as well. HOpe your day is off to a better start.. today i am just a girl!

HI, well here i am again. just had to share that my garden, hmm, flower pot, hmmm, well my veggies growing in flower pots , yeah thats it, finally made something. i just picked a squash and a tomatoe. Can't wait to try them. I have been trying to garden organically, so the first veggies i just told you about are organic, but they needed a little help, so my dad showed me how to fertilize with the spray stuff. Not really what i wanted to do, but the squash leaves were yellow. So hopefully someone out there can tell me more about how to garden organicly, i have eggshells in the pots, is that a good start??? also how do you fix squash flowers to eat??? Have a happy day from happygirl, happy about her fresh veggies!!

HI, as promised here are the peach adventure pics i promised you. We had such a great time. My mom has been wanting peaches, not from the store, but go and pick your own peaches. Now my mom has a hard time getting around, so it was me and my husband picking the peaches. We found a place in York S.C. , we were able to choose our own tomatoes, and corn out, then drove a little further and picked our OWN peaches right off the trees. We picked white and yellow peaches. It was definetly an adventure. My sweet hubby turned left instead of right, so we headed the wrong way for awhile, then backtracked and headed the right way. He had fun picking out the corn. Mom helped me choose from hundreds of maters to find the perfect peck for me. And there is only one left, they were very tasty. so enjoy the pics, and think of the adventures you have had with your loved ones, have a happy day, from Happygirl

Hi everyone. Hope all of you are staying cool one way or the other. My favorite way to stay cool is going to the pool. I like water arobics. I go to the Y and do what is called stepping stones in the indoor pool. Tonight I took a new class for me called cardio and strength training that was another water arobics class. I really enjoyed it. My tomato plants are growing. One plant, my heirloom plant has three green ones growing on it. I am trying to encourage the other plants to make some tomatos too. My squash plants have lots of blooms, so hopefully soon will have yummy squash. My chickens and ducks are laying again. It is so nice going into the chicken house and finding eggs. I always tell them thank you before I leave. They lay there eggs in the strangest places. As soon as my husband downloads some new pics, i will write about our peach picking adventure. Hi, everyone, Happygirl here. Thought I would write about What I love about Summer today. The # 1 thing i love about summer is all the fresh VEGGIES!!!! My parents have friends giving them tomaters, squash, and cukes. i love them all, and they are sharing with me. Nothing better thn homegrown veggies. YUM YUM!! I have some veggie plants potted in my yard. some squash, some tomaters. they are starting to grow, already have a baby mater on one. I am soooo excited. I started mine late, but hopefully i will hae some fresh veggies come late summer. My #2 love of summer is the POOL. We joined the ymca recently and i have started water arobics in the indoor pool, and love to sunbathe at the outdoor pool. It is great in the evening not as crowded and do some swimming in the deep end. I hope all of you are having a great summer, and doing what you love, for now, Happygirl.

Hi, Happy girl coming to you. As of today i have lost 21 pounds since going to weight watchers stating April 13, 2006. Hello, Wow what a week. I told you in an earlier post i have started weight watchers. This week when i went i have now lost a total of 16 pounds since April. I am excited. Some great snacks are theQuakers rice cakes, the chocolate and caramel are yummy. I also like snacking on pretzel sticks and peanut butter. Been eating alot of salads this week. Found i really like broccoli, carrots, and cucumbers mixed together. Smart Ones dinners, and the Micelina's lean in the frozen foods section are good, and filling. I will keep you updated. In the meantime enjoy the flower pics.

Amazing Lady:

Several yrs ago, after my grandmother passed away, i came across a hat labeled, I LOVE LUCY.
After some research, i found out that in the 1950's, Lucille Ball had endorsed a line of hats . Henry Pollack NY, NY produced them as well as I understand. They are very rare, and can find nothing on Pollack on the computer. Like he is lost in time. But, that was a LONG time ago. Guess the information highway doesn't go back that far, for they had no way to keep info as handy as we do today. Anyway, it really made me look at her life. She was a Leo, born in Aug. Very Independent. If anyone out there knows anything about the hats endorsed or any other OFFICIAL licensed items for THAT ERA, not the kitchy kute stuff of today, I would love the info. yes, yes, yes to infinite. but the one i want is an hour away from where i live, has 75,000 miles on it and costs$9,000 dollars. My dad says thats too much and he would not waste his money$$$$$
so my bubble ws burst. He says a suzuki, toyata or honda would be better, and cheaper and last longer. i am not putting these cars down, i just know what I want. If there is ANY BODY OUT THERE... please put your two cents worth in. I just need another viewpoint on this issue, thanks

well it is summer again. shorts and swimsuit season, are you ready for it?? not me. recently we joined the Y. this week will make our first whole week, and we have not gone yet, my excuse, waiting on my new bathing suit and work out clothes to arrive that i ordered this week. i started weight watchers last week with 2 of my friends. when i saw how much i weighed i was in shock....
i really didn't think alot about dieting this week and i lost 7 pounds. i really do not know how that happened. but it did!!! i will keep you up to date on things, i need all the help i can get. and the encouragement too. i will pass on recipes, and tips for those of you that are interested. i read a blog earlier this week and she commented she never received any comments and was feeling discouraged, i feel the same way and thats why i do not blog as much as my husband. I feel i boring you. so i am asking, if any one out there in blog land reads this, please share SOMETHING>>>>><<<<<
I would love to know what you do to loose weight, any recipe tips, etc. pass them on, i am sure others will enjoy it , i know I WILL***********!!!!!!!!!!!
One lady in the meeting today said she had begun jumping rope, when she started she could only do 5, now she can do 50 without getting winded. A tip i learned before in weight watchers was when baking, use orange juice or applesauce instead of oil. i really liked doing that, seemed to make things a lot more moist. Well those of you out there preparing for shorts and swim suits- good luck to you- wish me luck too. i look forward to your comments..... happygirl

My favorite part of Spring is the flowers that bloom, even though my allergies will disagree with that. This past week my dogwoods having started blooming. I am not sure what it is , but seeing that just gives me a warm fuzzy inside. Take time out of your day to ... notice the flowers..

Well this has been a great several days. I have been sick since Friday. Woke up with a cold sore on my lip and the next several days weren't any better. I have sneezed, coughed, and blown my nose so much my nose is raw. Missed working a job with my husband, my mary kay meeting and luch with friends this week. having a cold really blows.... Well you know it is spring when one's allergies start acting up. the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, and you are sneezing and congested. What a great way to start a season right.
YOu take this and that and nothing helps. It doesn't matter if it is over the counter or prescribed
nothing helps and you feel just lousy. At least that is how I am, SO here is my salute to all of you bloggers out there who are allergy sufferers like myself.......lets just make it through Spring and the wonderful Pollen , just so we can melt in the heat of the summer.

A great week

Hi, happygirl here. Wow what a week. last sunday is when it all started. I went to a friends for a jewelery party. ordered some cute things. Next she had a doggie tha was given to them, and they were looking for a home for it, so guess what, he came home with us. He is a yr old pomeranian, and just adorable. So now i have three dog boys. i love my boys. After that adventure it was time for shopping. So off we went and I got new clothes, and new dog and new jewlery all in the same day, how GREAT!! The weather this week has been wonderful and having all my boys around, really makes my days good days. I met with a friend i grew up with but lost touch with for lunch today. it was nice catching up. Then worked my business by going around to local buinesses and asking to place a facial bag there so I could get some possible interest in my Mary Kay business.
Just came home from spending time with my wonderful mother and another lecture from my father about having too many pets. hope your week was as wonderful as mine, love happygirl
p.s. a new baby chick has hatched out at our house, so little , soft and black, now what to name him?her? anyway, have a great week!!

HAPPINESS is.............

To me happiness is .......

1) My family
2) My husband
3) My animals

My family brings me happiness because my mother and I are very close. we talk at least once or twice a day. We have a special connection. I was her last child and of course her baby forever. I was suppoesed to be a boy..haha.. surprise surprise, I was a girl. My mom and I hae a very special connection. I almost didn't make it into this world, but it was Gods will that I did. Growing up of course there is always friction between children and there parents, music , clothing, entertainment differences. Mom always wanted us to be "twins" and dress alike, I thought that was just horrible. But now that I am in my 30's, I am glad to have my mom still around.I almost lost her 6 yrs ago. She gave all of us a scare with a heart attack. I was planning my wedding at the time, and even now I miss her help during those stressful times. I just thought I could not bear losing her, at a time that was supposed to be sooo happy. God saw fit for her to get through it though, and today she is still her fiesty mama self. Today I am proud to be her daughter, dress alike, go to the movies or anywhere else toghether. Talk to her about my life, happiness and worries. Help her with this that and what ever else she would like help with. happiness is my family but especially my wonderful and loving mother who has always been my strength and support.
Happiness is also my husband. I believe in LOVE at first sight, as soon as I saw him, I knew he was the one for me. He accepted me as I am. He sees me as beautiful, even though I do not, he encourages me and compliments me. He accepts me as not perfect but as human. We have now been married for 6 yrs. We have had our ups and downs, but our love is strong and true and has survivied, and will continue to survive for many yrs. He make me laugh, he makes me smile. He tells me he loves me everyday. He helps me with anything and I mean anything I need help with. He is gentle and kind, all my friends say how did I get so lucky, and it was just God looking after me.
My third happiness is my animals. I have all kinds. Happiness is hearing my ducks Quack...Happiness is hearing my roosters cock-a doodle -doo, happiness is discovering and egg in the chicken house...happiness is watching bunnies whiffing there nose...happiness is my cocatiel stretching her feathers and playing with her bell....happiness is the cat with her big kitten green eyes...happiness are my two dogs in nearly everything they do, from the way they play to the way they run, to the way they follow me, cuddle up with me, and show me unconditional love.
All these things bring Happiness to me...... happygirl here wishing happiness for you today and always...

Hi, happy girl here. Just wanted to share with you how having the Love of Pink has changed my life. In some of my blogs you have probebly noticed a theme. Recently I became a Mary Kay consultant. It has been a very positive experience for me so far. I have made several new friends and just feel better about myself. I have neer been much of a makeup girl. However, I do feel better about myself when I wear it, my husband really likes it too. So that also gives my self esteem a good boost. Last month he even treated me to a new hair do. I have changed my style from jeans girl to a dresser me. all in all I just feel so much better. My depression is going away, and I am losing weight, and just feel as if the Love of Pink has jump started be back to the Happygirl I was when I met my husband 6 yrs ago. Just sharing my thoughts, happygirl

Power Of Pink

My topic is on the Power of Pink today. Thats right PINK. Many of you are thinking, what is she talking about. Well I am talking about my new adventure in my life. That adventure is a mary Kay business. I am not trying to sell myself to you, just explain to you how this has changed my life in the recent months.

let be begin from the beginning.I started my new adventure in Oct 2005. A friend of mine, invited me to a Coffee and Cake meeting after another person she was planning on taking could not go. I was only going to help her out . The feeling of Friendship in that room was over whelming. I had recently started feeling better after a time over the 2005 year with a herniated disk in my lower back. I had not been out really any with friends, or around anyone in nearly a year. I had 2nd thought on going, and sine I am also a Tupperwre consultant, I told myself, you are here to support your friend, not commit to anything, or try anything new. On the way home my friend was like "well how did you like it?" I told her it was nice and fun. I did have a good time. Then I was talking to her about my rosy cheeks, she let me take home 2 products adn try them, if I liked them she said just pay me later, or return them if unhappy with them. So I tried them. Right away I felt a difference, so did my husband. The more I used it the softer he said my skin looked. So next I was one of my friends practice interviews, and at the end of that conversation I was hooked, I joined right then and there. I love the product, my face feels good, I feel good, I have less depressive days, and I even got a new hair do this month. My husband loves the new me with makeup, never really wore it before. His fav is the lipstick, glosses, and eyeliner. My faves are the skin care, dual coverage foundation and bronzer. This past Sat. I went to a friends birthday party and I had several comments saying I looked younger with my makeup on, and people going "what have you done to yourself". Even tonight at a meeting, I was told my skin had change (for the better) I should say. It is smooth, less red, and overall I feel GOOD. If you live in the Charlotte N.C. area and do not have a Mary Kay consultant, I would love to meet you and share my excitement about the company and the products with you. I am also looking for models. That's right, models. I need YOU!!! I have a goal of 100 faces now TODAY thru March 31st. I would Love to have your face in my portfolio. Have a business in this area, I will put a business card with your picture and maybe you can get some extra business with the ladies that see my portfolio with your picture in it. Hi, everyone!!

Happygirl here, trying to be happy. Hope all of your New Years started out well. Mine, well really it was just another day like any other.....almost. My New year started out in Georgia. I was with my husbands folks. Instead of the southern cuisine of black eyed peas and cooked cabbage I would have had at home here with my folks in N.C. , i had instead Red Lobster. Now don't get me wrong, it was VERY GOOD. My hubby and I had lobster tail and steak. He had the giant lobsterita and i had the red pina coloda. tasty!! Then back at his folks we watched the New York ball drop and then had fireworks of our own. My hubby just had to stop in S.C. and purchase them. I limited him to 20.00, he came back with 35.00 worth. I told him fine, the more Mary Kay inventory and product for me I could buy. Anyway, we didn't use all of them, and so they are in Georgia so we can use them next visit. Then after we got home and checked our finances, we had only 40.00 to get by own for the next couple of weeks. So we put our Christmas money my family gave us in the bank, and hopefully we will not dig a deeper hole in debt till he gets paid next. So guess we should have had the cabbage and peas. Then this past weekend my mom went into the hospital. My dad kept is secret from me till late Fri. night. She did get to come home very late sunday thank goodness. They said she had a virus. What do the doctors really know these days anyhow- except how to get your $$$$$$$.......
Plus over the weekend one of my dogs bit me. They were fighting over there treats and in trying to seperate them, one of them decided top take a bite out of me in there splificans. Looks like i stuck the leaded end of a pencil in my arm. My husband commented last night i had not written my blog since Christmas, so now I have written one. Hope your New Years was better than mine, please share yours,

What is Christmas to you...Share how you spend the holidays

I was just windering with it so close to Christmas how others around the world spend Christmas. You see all the holiday movies, and there's singing, presents, santa claus, and lots of food. But, how do we really spend the holiday. I know for my family, we gather at my brothers home. basically we just sit around and talk, catching up on each others lives. this yr we are having bbq, thats right. we are calling it a "redneck" Christmas, because we are having it at my brothers unfinished home. My neices and nephews will be there. this is the only tome of yr i see them. As for gifts, well we only do gifts for the mom and pop that started this family and for the little ones. We don't sing , but theres usually music in the background. Maybe afterwards we will go around to different neighborhoods and see the lights.

So how do you celebrate??? would love to hear it!!

Ever have one of those days??? Well for me it is one of those lives..... It seems nothing ever goes right. ever feel that way for you........??? Here it is Christmas and we still haven't decorated, I sort of just have the hum bugs. At least I have my animals to cheer me up. Right now the cat is under the computer just waiting to pounce on me..he..he..he..!! I hate having to pay taxes on the house at the end of the year. really puts a damper on the holidays. Then to top all of it off the only vehecile we have running right now had to have a new battery pu in this morning before my husband could get to work. that was another chunk of change to spend. Just where does it all go??? I mean you get paid, your happy you have money , so maybe you go out somewhere nice to eat, then there are all the bills to pay, groceries, and miscellanous things that come up. aaahhh to be a kid again. well maybe. life always just seems better when you are a kid. at least it did to me. anyway, those are my thoughts for now.

Well , like the title states, this blog is about this , that and the other.
First let me tell you a little about me. I am 34, soon to be 35 in the new year. Looking real forward to that..... (are you kidding). I have been happily married to Cicero for the past 6 yrs, looking forward to lots more...(yes really). I love animals. I currently have two chichuahua's, 2 cats, 1 cockateil, 9 chickens, 5 ducks, and 9 rabbits. Last year before I hurt my back I worked with my sister in her business called Pony Rides etc. I helped her with pony rides, birthday parties, pony carosel rides at fairs, and petting zoo parties. She has all types of animals from mice to goats, pot belly pigs, even a llama. For the past 4 yrs I have been a tupperware consulatant and just this past Oct. signed up as a Mary kay consultant. I really enjoy doing both. I am a housewife. I did teach preschool for several yrs, then decided to stay home. My dogs really like having me here all day. I like to be creative. I usually make my own greeting cards and this year made my own Christmas gift wrap. I do this with rubber stamps. I also like to make my own soap. A lot of times my husband gets into the crafty mood with me. 7pm is my time to see the soap days of our lives on soap network. Lucille ball is my fav actress. I love all her oldie goldie movies and of course I Love Lucy television show. If any of you know how or anything about her hat line from the 1950's let me know . Of course her show and others in that era were popular and endorsed products and one of hers was a hat line. Henry Pollack was the designer and not much is known about the hats in this era. They are very hard to come by, and ever so often when one does show up on ebay, it gets gone quick, i've tried and always get scooped. This ever happen to you?? I used to write poetry, but haven't done that in quite a while. I like to stay up late and watch tv. I have a hard time sleeping at night. My favorite and only computer game is Sims2. any of you play??? It can be very addictive. Thanks to you that welcomed me the other day when I wrote my 1st blog. Hello Everybody!!

Welcome to my new blog. For those of you that know Cicero, you may have heard me called Mrs. Cicero. My husband is a compulsive blogger, I have a hard time getting him off the computer. I am always asking him, what are you tippity tapping about over there?
